Project Anarchy

Good afternoon from Atlanta everyone. @joshjohnson posting. Sorry I'm running late this morning. Slept in today. I'm blaming it on the weekend. ?? Our hashtag today is #jj_forum_1465. Karen is starting us off with a shot by @galitkas, featured on @jj_silhouette recently.
.
Stay tuned all day as we focus on the work our Anarchy group leaders are doing here at #JJ. The #JJ Project anarchy groups are a very special part of our community. I'd be the first to admit it can be hard not to feel lost in the crowd, when 5,000 images are submitted a day to the main forum. And what if you're just not into the #JJ theme on any given day? That's where the Anarchy groups come in. You decide where to take things. A much more personal and homey environment. Who knew Anarchy was so comfy! ?? I hope you join in. :-).

jjcommunity@joshjohnson posting. Today's tag is #jj_forum_1464 and our theme is "Purple". It's Show Them The Love Week here at #JJ. We're shining the spotlight on charities that are close to your heart. Today I'd like to call attention to a group suggested by @psychmamma. Here's her write up on The Epilepsy Foundation.

"@epilepsyfdn!! Our daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy 3 years ago when she was status epilepticus (seizures that would not stop without medical intervention). It was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. She was turning blue, and I didn't know what was happening. I felt completely helpless. More than 2 million people in the US currently struggle with epilepsy and it has a huge impact on the lives of the individuals diagnosed as well as their families. The foundation works to support individuals and families as well as working to promote research and treatments in the effort to find a cure. The foundation and cause use the representation color purple. Thank you so much for listening to these stories and for all you're doing. ???" - @psychmamma.

Time flys. I still remember this game though. Miranda would make a tent in the bed and say "Come on dad. Let's marsh our mellows!" Her way of saying she wanted to pretend we were roasting marshmallows ??. Today's tag is #jj_forum_1463 and our theme is "Kids Being Kids".

@joshjohnson posting. It's Show Them The Love Week here at #JJ. We're shining the spotlight on charities that are close to your heart. Today I'd like to call attention to togetherwerise.org, a group recommended by Michael Deleon, aka @alteredegopictures. I asked for your suggestions a couple days back. Here's Michael's write up on Together We Rise.

"I'm a social worker for kids in foster care and adoption. I work for an agency McKinley Children's Center based out of San Dimas, CA. The charity I want to promote is called Together We Rise @togetherwerise. This is a charity run by young college kids and was founded in 2008 by a then 19 year old named Danny Mendoza. My agency and I have worked directly with TWR and since their founding and they have grown considerably since then.

Through the years they have been instrument in providing many things that foster kids lack, including simple things such as a duffel bag to carry their belongings in. Foster kids are known to bounce from home to home carrying their few precious things in trash bags but thanks to TWR and its "Sweet Cases" program, many have now a real duffel bag.

TWR also provides many things such as new bikes, laptops for the teens who graduate, clothes shopping sprees, and once a year in September, they take up to 200 or more kids to Disneyland (I have chaperoned every year) all thanks to donations receive.

I would like it if we could showcase them here. People can visit their website and learn more about them. Volunteers and donations are always welcomed! Thanks." - @alteredegopictures.
