An Interview with GeorgiaK

Yes! It’s Friday and it’s time to release yet another exclusive JJ Editor interview! Kindly read the following words to find out about the inspiring story of a JJ Editor who agreed to have a little exclusive chat to spill the details of her Glorious life for the avid JJ Community Members!

Our guest today is Georgia Karagianni (otherwise known as @georgiakaragianni / @jj_editor_georgiak )!

Ok! Before we go through getting to know Georgia, I have to say this interview got composed and published a bit out of the regular queue for the reasons shared below! When @kevinkuster granted me the permission to work on the interviews I thought that I should initially start over doing interviews with the Veteran JJ Editors & as time goes by I would continue doing the interviews for our latest group of the editors in time as well. But sometimes you need to break the cycle all because a fresh-faced, super talented & hardworking JJ Editor comes out of the blue! So let’s unravel telling you the Story of our very own JJ Editor Georgiak!

Georgia Karagianni became a JJ Editor in January 2016, despite the relatively short time-frame since the beginning of her JJ duties she has proved that she’s indeed a gold mind and valuable contributor to the ever-growing talented members of the JJ Family! I’ve been closely following Georgia’s activity as an Editor and miraculously she has always kept a very professional pace for her JJ Editorial duties! Her features are carefully and tastefully selected and she seems to be always ready to participate for each and every daily theme!

So far Georgia has been able to feature almost 3000 photos since January! As you might know @joshjohnson & @kevinkuster do prefer “Quality over Quantity”, thus they always recommend the JJ Editors to “fish” for the most valuable shots instead of featuring a chunk photographs in a row… Now I have to confirm not only Georgia goes immaculately for “Quality” features but astonishingly she also goes for “Quantity” for her daily features as well! And that is the reason why she’s ended up having a precious Feed in a very short period of time! To put you in perspective, I’d say her efforts are quite similar to the invaluable & priceless constant efforts of our very own Deb (@jj_editor_debwazi)!

Alrighty, So now that you guys are fully aware about Georgia’s brilliant JJ Editorial duties, Why don’t we delve into the details of her personal life to get to know her a bit better too!

Georgia currently resides in Palm Beach Gardens (Atlanta), but originally comes from #Greece! (Ain’t that fascinating to have a Greek JJ Editor?!) …Now I can tell her Greek DNA is big time responsible to have such tasteful features by her! Greek people are always known for their one of a kind knowledge in Culture, literature, charity and arts! As we go through with interview you’ll find out she proudly practices so many great Greek mannerisms and I believe such qualities makes her a much better human!

She joined Instagram back in 2013 and just like many of us she found about JJ Community by seeing hashtags attached to her followers’ photographs! Georgia recalls she signed up to become a JJ Editor as she thought it would be an Interesting Experience and since then have spent a couple of hours on daily basis for the JJ Editorial duties! She claims the reason why she enjoys being a JJ Editor is the fact this community is followed by so many people with diverse tastes in photography, thus an Editor should be alerted and interested enough to delve in the daily submissions to find the best features upon getting engage with various photography genres and themes!

Now did I already told you about Georgia’s true Greek qualities? She claims as a Human she always tries her best not to intentionally harm anybody and tries to be compassionate about everything in life! Georgia happens to have very firm morals and tends to be very loud about practicing them as well! Best of all she’s always is ready to fight for her Beliefs! She reveals her motto in life revolves around the same matter too! “Never Give Up / Fight for Your Convictions” happens to be embossed throughout her daily actions!

Georgia reveals she has lots of diverse interests ranging from Arts, Science, Fashion, Financial Affairs (Seriously?!) and even Politics! She recalls at young age her Mother [who happens to be a Corporate Attorney] would let little Georgia know about the details of her work and would also take Georgia and her sister to various Museums, Galleries, Art Festivals and Cultural Events just for the sake to let them be aware and get to know various concepts of Life! (Aha! Greek DNA kicks in again!) Georgia also recalls at very early age her mother would suggest her to read milestone literature books as well! All in all, perhaps those are the reasons why she is the way she is now! (…& I have to confess you’re all the way Awesome!)

Georgia says she’s been into photography since her early 20s and her personal favorite genre in photography happens to be Minimalism, she also likes to use various creative filters to give a painted-feel to her photographs to enhance their mood as well! She uses both her Nikon D3200 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge as her trusty daily drivers when it comes to photography! Finally her favorite Digital Editing Applications are VSCO, Pixlr and Lightroom.

Pet and Animal Rescue is another duty that Georgia has been practicing since almost two years ago, She would look for estranged animals and would bring them to Animal shelter homes as a volunteer act! (Great Job!), She also happens to have four rescued pets in her household too! A Dog and Three cats are part of her daily responsibilities as well!
I asked Georgia if she was able to turn back the time, would she liked to change anything and she firmly replied she has no “Regrets” whatsoever! Anyhow she points out her saddest days in her life were the day she lost her dear father and the day that her grandparents passed away.

As the last question I asked how Georgia evaluates JJ’s “Create to Connect” concept and she told me she sees it as an opportunity for various individuals with different backgrounds to come together for the love of Photography and to make true friendships across the virtual lines of a Social network!
