An Interview with Maria

Good day everyone from the sunny and super hot Southern California! It’s time for a brand new exclusive JJ Editor Interview, This time around I’m taking you all the way up to the Nordic European region to unravel the story of a hard working editor who has been constantly around since 2015!
Maria Sander Nilsson ( @mariasander_ / @jj_editor_mariasander ) is seating on our this week’s hot seat for a small talk about her personal & professional life to be revealed for the very first time to all of you JJ Commnunity devotees! Grab a coffee and kindly read through!
Let me begin this interview by saying I’ve utterly enjoyed reading Maria’s answers, she emitted a big wave of honest, clear and direct answers! It felt so good as if I was encountering with a trusty & safe swedish Volvo car! YEAH!
Maria joined IG a couple of years ago, she recalled her main incentive for signing up to Instagram was to find some random pictures about the city of Mallorca in Spain! As time passed she began posting her own photographs and step by step she found IG as a one-stop-shop for joining photo communities and ultimately to find good new friends!
Maria says Photography & Paintings have always had an undeniable role in her life, but as for living, these days Maria practices Physiotherapy and yet happens to be a Landscape architect as well, she reveals at one stage in her life she wanted to establish an Art Studio but she was in shortage of money, thus she began working in the service-sector of an old Swedish castle just to fulfill her dreams! (Way to go, Brilliant!)
These days not only Maria resides in Sweden, but she would frequently pop-in to her Villa located in the mountains of Mallorca, Spain! She’s happily married and happens to have two young men as her children, Maria says she enjoys eating and making good food and her signature dish happens to be Paella! (It’s a traditional Valencian / Spanish dish), she’s also very fond of Hiking, Yoga and Weightlifting as well! (Oh My, LOL!)
Now as many of you may know, just like myself, Maria was one of the international photographers who actually managed to participate for the 2015’s JJ Community & Columbus Museum of Art’s MobilePhotoNow event in Ohio, Based on her answers I found out she’s still pretty much fascinated by the positive vibes of that event! She said meeting @joshjohnson & @kevinkuster was the ultimate highlight of that trip! Moreover she secretly confessed the euphoria got even better as she managed to actually hug both Kevin & Josh too! (LOL!)
Maria said meeting JJers in the Mobilephotonow event made her interested enough to sign up to become a JJ editor in order to able to have a more productive and positive role within the community. These days Maria spends 30 to 180 minutes on the days she’s on her JJ Editorial duties, she plans to continue the same trend as she gets positive vibes upon selecting the best shots in the pool of thousands of daily submissions! She takes her Editorial duties as a personal privilege to able to view the work of art of the others. Ultimately she revealed viewing good photographs is like feeding your soul with good food.
A couple of quick facts about Maria
- iPhone 6 is Maria’s choice of camera, but she’s thinking to spice up things by getting a DLSR camera in the future.
- her favorite photo editing applications are VSCO & Superimpose.
- Outdoor photography is Maria’s favorite spot to take photos, despite that, she’s a shutterbug and is always eager to take photos in all conditions.
- Maria loves all color shades, she says her favorite range consists from Black the Blackest to White the Whitest!
- I Asked Maria to share us a secret and she kindly replied Secrets are not be to be Revealed!
- she is in company of two cute cats, one of them is called as Tom (named after singer/songwriter Tom Waits, LOL).
- Maria tends to embrace all four seasons, but she prefers Sunny Summer days in Mallorca compared to the long and cold winter days in Sweden!
Now to let you have a better insight on Maria’s personal & spiritual beliefs, I asked if she could recall the happiest day in her life so far & she boldly replied the happiest day of her life is actually the very same day that she’s living in it right now! She also added she would never to try to turn back the time in order to do things differently, but instead, despite the fact that she has no control about the things happening around her, she believes that she has the absolute power on how to react to them accordingly! (Wow! That’s such a deep yet fascinating way of living!)
As for the last of set questions I asked how Maria evaluates the future of Social Media Photography and she replied Photographs will always exist, no matter in what format! She also confirmed JJ’s “Create to Connect” motto means having the opportunity to meet people from all around the world in one go!
My finale question to Maria was if she would have enough powers to change things in the world what those things would have been? Her message was loud and clear: “Make Love / Not War & Stop Global Warming!” & This leads us to the end of another exclusive JJ Editor Interview, I genuinely hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know another hard working Editor who happens to have a strong and constant presence in order to bring you guys a better social experience!
