An Interview With Yolanda
Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen,
It’s Arashrimus / @arashrimus posting.
It’s time from another exclusive JJ Editors Interview from the sunny Los Angeles!
First and foremost let me thank you for being patient regarding the short delays between the latest editions of JJ Editors interviews! It’s summer time thus things are a tad vocation-oriented in here lol but fear not as there are still plenty of grand JJ Editor stories left to be unravelled via @jj_editor's page!
Alrighty! Now without further ado let’s roll this and let me introduce you our special guest of the week! She has been editing for the JJ Community since 2015, moreover she has grown up in Southern California but resides in Portland, She has a huge faith to God and funnily enough has always been known as the “Loca” amongst her siblings!
YES! You guessed it right, we have Yolanda ( @mrsyomama / @jj_editor_mrsyo ) as our this week’s Editor in Spotlight! A fantastic lady like no other! To begin with let me tell how much I adored her sense of participation for this interview! She kindly and thoroughly answered my questions thus I think by the end of this interview you’re gonna love knowing a bit more about Yolanda as much as I felt fascinated knowing her as well.
Yolanda Webb reckons that she likes to simply called as “YO” by her friends and her family, she and her husband of 28 Years have originally meet 30 years ago in a church! Her husband Terry was the pastor of the church and our very own Yo was the Sunday volunteer teacher in the same church! Nevertheless their love blossomed and subsequently 4 children as well as a cute granddaughter are the outcomes of their everlasting love!
Now before we go though, I need you all to go back and have a look at the photograph of Yo! Hmm?! Initially before sending out the questions to Yolanda I thought she happened to be a 30 year old girl from Oregon, And now as it turned out she’s fascinating 50 year old grandmother who is looking all around fabulous! Seriously I’m big time impressed!
Ok, let me tell you more details about Yolanda! She boldly reveals that “The Crazy & La Loca” were her nicknames when she was a kid and basically by all means it seemed all the fun was always stirred up from her one way or another! Yolanda secretly tells her sisters do insist the “Loca” personality lives alive and kicking in her despite she has become a grandmother 2 years ago!
Yolanda recalls she has always loved doing photography even at the early ages when she was a kid, she says her mother is her main inspiration when it comes down her eternal love to photography. Her mom enjoyed taking spontaneous photographs all the time thus capturing photos seemed to be a perfect way to preserve memories in the most tangible way possible!
Yo has been a Teacher’s assistant for 12 years at an elementary school, but then she turned herself in as a home-mom for 15 years to raise her beloved children, nowadays she’s a kindergarten teacher and reveals working with them makes her to feel “Young at Heart”! (PS, Dearest one! Not only you are young at heart but you are deffo young at looks too! LOL)
Now as for her household duties, Yolanda says she’s great with Mexican food, specially Posole & Sour Cream Enchiladas are her signature ones, yet at the same time she secretly spills that some days she’s not in the mood to cook, thus she would reply back with this iconic sentence “You know where the buttons are” when her children would ask if she had cooked anything for the Dinner! OMG! LOL
Yolanda also adds Colors have always been the mesmerizing factors when it comes down to the beauties of our daily life, she says bright colors, specially Blue, red and white are her favorites and in the course of the years she has managed to collect tons of Paint swatch Cards too! She says seeing jolly colors do always make her to Smile and enjoy the life even better! (PS, I completely feel you! Whenever I see lively colors I would automatically wear a smile to my face too! Hehe…)
Yo also happens to be a big music fan of the 60s, 70s and 80’s music too! She reveals despite the fact that her kids are always making fun of her musical talents, but she infact sounds like Karen Carpenter ! (Oh Wow! We have a multi talent JJ Editor in the house! LOL ) (Off topic hint: If you guys are in the 80s/90s/00s music then tune in to iHeart Radio’s 103.5 KOST FM! It’s one of the best out there.)
Now let's switch to a couple of Photography oriented questions, Yolanda told me she initially found out about IG via her children, then after a while she decided to join to post up a couple of personal photos for the her family members! It was only then that she found about the concept of “Tagging” in IG and then rest was history! She also found JJ Community from IG’s popular page and started to tag her shots by participating in the daily photo challenges! Funnily enough back in the early days Yolanda thought the photos posted on JJ’s main feed were actually the personal pictures of @joshjohnson lol apparently she got interested in JJ’s feed big time and then she found out that actually she can herself contribute to the feed by tagging her shots to get a feature by Josh & @kevinkuster lol
iPhone photography is Yolanda’s favorite choice to take her daily photographs, nevertheless she’s quite familiar working with the DSLR cameras and from time to time she uses her very own professional camera just to spice up the things as well. She even says her latest family gift for the 50 th birthday was infact a Nikon DSLR ! (Awesome gift! Isn’t?!) Then again she confesses iPhone photography is very dear to her as it made it possible to take photographs at anytime and anyplace like no other.
Yolanda happens to use VSCO, ColorStory and PicsArt is her most used cellphone applications to Edit her own personal photos, she also says outdoor photography happens to be her most favorite, specially Cloudy and Sunset themed photos are indeed very appealing to her taste.
Moreover I asked Yolanda about her point of view on photography and she simply replied back by saying she sees photography a perfect tool to be able to “capture” the things that you love to hold! She also added JJ’s “Create to Connect” motto is very dear to her heart as it makes it possible for her to “be herself” and yet to reach out to others by using her JJ Editorial duties! She also adds thanks to the JJ Community she’s now in touch with so many great dear friends such as @dodovo, @angrylittlenotion, @thekdd, @natalieqmse, @makeitsnappy & @mistyblue4u.
As the last set of questions I asked what is Yo’s personal motto in life and she kindly shared her actions and thoughts do revolve around this : “Whatever you do, Do it heartily as to Lord and not to men” ! and then I asked what Yolanda would be doing if she had the power to change the world we are living & this happened to be her decisive answer: “Walk in God’s love, Walk in God’s light & Walk in God’s wisdom”!
Well that leads us to the end of a yet another exclusive JJ Editors interview! I genuinely hope you enjoyed reading get to know another hard working and devoted JJ Editor!
Be sure to stay tuned here for more interviews coming up to your way soon!
Yours truly,
Arashrimus ( @arashrimus / @jj_editor_arashrimus_ )
